WHAT WE TREAT
About us
Our founders, Dr. Dana Shanis and Catherine McGinty, met working in women’s health and noticed a deficit in the diagnosis and treatment of common pelvic and sexual concerns. They saw how the lack of accurate diagnosis and comprehensive treatment for these issues could deeply affect a woman’s well being, and decided to devote their time to addressing these intimate concerns.

Our mission at VHealth & Wellness is to educate, treat and advocate for women with a range of pelvic and sexual health concerns and support emotional well-being in an inclusive and supportive environment. The all female staff uses evidence-based research, cutting edge technology and individualized care to empower women, allowing them to take ownership over their health, improving self esteem and quality of life.
YOUR PARTNER IN HEALTH.
Most Women’s Health providers are trained to look for disease in the pelvic organs, but have little training in the neurologic or musculoskeletal causes of pain. As a result, even after seeing multiple providers, many women continue to live with undiagnosed or untreated problems with pain and sexual function. Even worse, many women have been told their complaints are all in their head or that they should just deal with them.
Our approach is different, we have specialty training on the complexities of pain and sexual function, and are on the cutting edge of effective and evidence-based treatments for the nerves and muscles in the pelvic floor. Our compassionate providers understand the debilitating effect these issues can have on a women’s relationships and sense of self, and take the time to get to know each patient as an individual.
Our multidisciplinary approach that addresses not just the physical but also the emotional effects of pain has helped many women regain their quality of life.
